James Ingram the Grammy-winning RnB singer and songwriter has reportedly died of brain cancer.
His longtime friend actress and choreographer Debbie Allen her said on her twitter account
“I have lost my dearest friend and creative partner James Ingram to the Celestial Choir,” Allen wrote. “He will always be cherished, loved and remembered for his genius, his love of family and his humanity. I am blessed to have been so close. We will forever speak his name.”: "I have lost my dearest friend."
James Ingram's career saw him getting nominated 14 times for Grammys and, he went on to win one for his duet "Yah Mo B" with Michael McDonald, and another one for "100 Ways."
In 1983 James Ingram co-wrote the iconic Michael Jackson song PYT (Pretty Young Thing) This was also the year that he released his first solo album "It's Your Night."
